About Me

Alea Khan is an artist and designer born, raised, and based in New York City. Her curiosity, dedication, and highly precise skill allows her work to be guided by intuition rather than remain in a singular category. As a fashion designer, her primary medium is cloth. From knitting, weaving, crochet, pattern making, and sewing to creating soft circuits and soft sculpture- she has over 10 years of experience in the fiber arts. She is the winner of the Gerber Technology Student Design competition in 2017 for her wearable technology project, Circuit Cycle. Prior to her design career, she worked in the research department at the Medical Schools of several Ivy League Universities. She is the co-author to over a dozen research publications in Neurology journals.
