Emerald Wedding Gown

In 2019, I created a custom wedding gown for a very lucky bride who has been my best friend since birth. It was a deeply personal project, as we envisioned and designed the gown together with her personality in mind. A summer wedding in paradise for an adoring groom and a bride whose main priority was to DANCE! The knee-length dress utilized couture techniques throughout and was made from silk, organza, and lace motif fabric which was perfectly matched across 8 panels. It featured removable hand embroidered straps embedded with 248 individual Swarovski crystals, 6.4 carats of machine polished Emeralds, and 1.9 carat central Opal incorporating the couple’s birthstones.

To add formality to the main dress, the bride requested a removable skirt featuring an open front that she could make an entrance with and promptly detach once it was time to hit the dance floor. Together we selected a beaded sequined lace overlay fabric to a 6 tiered tulle base. This was no easy feat and quite the challenge working with such fabric. But, in the end, the results were stunning. Throughout our years, the bride, her groom, and I have shared wonderful memories and numerous collaborations. But none so special and unique as this one. <3
